Cal's QB

It seems that California will be the only real test for this group before ACC play starts, though a trip to Middle Tennessee State could be an upste in the making like traveling to Northern Illinois a few years back. Jeff Tedford seems to have done a George Costanza and pulled the opposite of Ralph Friedgen. He picked the sophomore quarterback, Kevin Riley, who played well at the end of the season instead of the senior who started last season before losing his job. To be fair Longshore is a better quarterback than Jordan Steffy ever will be but it is interesting that Tedford made the choice that was about who played well in games, not who had great practice stats. Like Fridge Tedford hemmed and hawed about how close the competition was and even hedged his bets and said that the senior, Nate Longshore, may still play in the opener. The fans at Cal seem fairly pleased with the decision.
